Anna Frozen Halloween

I was a make-shift Anna for my work Halloween costume:) I feel like every year I end up dressing up as a few different things...but that's what happens when you love Halloween!! Different occasions call for different costumes. For work I keep it low key (ish...). I love Anna's colors!! I just happened to have them...but all in shirts ;) I'm wearing a blue V-neck shirt around my waist (it has a perfect sized neck line), a light blue button down with a black t-shirt, and a maroon cardigan draped around my shoulders. I just work black leggings and black booties on bottom, and a gold belt around my waist, pointing down into the V of the shirt.

Yes, my costume consists of four shirts. Anna Halloween costume!!

Also, it was way too much fun piling on the eyeliner and mascara to create that almost cross-eyed Anna look. :)

Winter Wonderland

Hip hip, hooray for the festive season approaching!!! I love Christmastime for so many reasons. :) It really does bring a special spirit as we turn our thoughts toward the birth and life of Christ.
I also really love Christmas parties!!!! "A party, is a party, but a Christmas party...!" (What show, what show?)
I love getting together with family and friends, and for some reason, dress during holiday parties is like 10x fancier than dress for other season's parties. I love this outfit, and I'm stoked to wear it all winter long:) I may trade out the heels for my little flat wedges though, so people stop asking me how the weather is up here ;)

Also, this is my rommates' room, so don't judge the messiness ;)

I'm a Polar Bear!

Happy Halloween!!!

I love dressing up for Halloween!!!! I already dressed up as a maid and wonder woman, but I just wanted something cute and simple to wear to the office to be a little festive for Halloween, so I ended up being a polar bear:)  I just wore my polar bear sweater and drew a little black nose with eyeliner and set it with eye shadow. When I walked into the office, one of my coworkers was like, "You have something on your nose..." (I felt like Mean Girls, "I'm a polar bear- DUH!")

I'll Get You My Pretty! (And Your Little Dog Too...)

This is what happens when you have no monies and you still want to decorate for Halloween:) I did this for about $7. Inexpensive Halloween decorations are the best!

$3 for the pumpkin, $3 for six little pumpkins, and $1 to print off this printable on glossy cardstock. I already had the orange yarn:) I love wreaths and things on the door, I feel like it sets the mood for the whole apartment, even if decorations inside are sparse.

I just threw three little pumpkins on the bookshelf to make it more Halloweeny.

I put my AMAZZZZZING Salt City Pumpkin Spice candle on the TV with two baby pumpkins:)

Happy Halloween!

Pre-Fourth Celebrations! :)

I dropped by my family's home for a surprise visit! We were all dressed super patriotically! Didn't even plan it. Also, family #nomakeup day. Also unplanned ;) Happy summer!

Aw...Look how patriotic they are!

The flag kept falling down, so mom was holding it and pretending it was staying by itself.

Too much cuteness for one photo.

My mama's literally the greatest.

Sometimes, you just hug your mom.

Mom made such a cute table cloth and runner for the 4th of July!
Delish!

Luck O' the Irish

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!  I happen to love this (and every) holiday.  I think it started when we were little and I set up all kinds of little things to make Leslie believe leprechauns were real. (Like magically appearing pennies, and peanut shells, which, obviously, that screams leprechauns.)  We would make leprechaun traps in school and sometimes there might even be little green footprints when we got to school on March 17th! We were never clever enough to catch one though...

I carried on the tradition this year doing some things for my friends and roommies. My favorite, though, are these cute little "pots of gold at the end of the rainbow" I put together for our top referring physicians at work.
Happy St. Patty's Day!

Lent

In 2014, lent begins Wednesday, March 5 and ends Thursday April 17.

I'm a Mormon, and won't attempt to describe lent to you, so here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lent

Essentially, it's a period of time before Easter during which the faithful show increased faith, penitence, and self-denial.  It's not traditionally observed by Mormons, but every year when it comes around, I get inspired by my friends who do observe it as part of their religion.  I think it's something everyone can learn from.

So this year, I'm making a concentrated effort to give up a couple things "for lent" and be a little more generous.

The Resurrection of Christ, Carl Bloc
What about you?  Can you make a commitment to give up something to be a little closer to God over the next few weeks?
One thing I like about lent is that it doesn't last forever.  Because some things are impractical to live without forever, but they can be sacrificed for a few short weeks. Like buying clothes.  But for other things, it's a doorway into giving it up forever, like road rage or swearing.
It's just something interesting to think about.  It's like the "Christmas Spirit," but for Easter. And instead of overloading our lives with stress and buying presents, it's about simplifying and purifying our lives and hearts.
