Hogle Zoo!

We went to the zoo and it was awesome!!! I love the zoo so much.  I think my favorite was the tropical enclosure you can walk through and see tropical animals in their natural habitat.  Chris freaked for the sloth, and I also really liked the Bengal tiger, giraffes and seals. Basically, it was all cool. :)

I was so excited that the only things I managed to take photos of were the grizzlys.

What is Water???

I love this video.  It's so true.  I can't remember who, but someone said, "what screws us up most in life is the picture in our head of how it's supposed to be."

Life can be very boring and frustrating.  It's not supposed to be fun and exciting all the time. It's not supposed to be easy.  You give life meaning yourself.  You choose to make it fulfilling. It's all about how you think and process the world.  You do need to get away from the negative default setting.  Thinking positively is not something you're born with, it's something you learn.  Noticing those around you isn't a natural skill, it's acquired.

One thing this video left out, is that there are things that add meaning, passion and purpose to life.  Family, friends, service, religion, hobbies. These things make the drudgery worthwhile:)  It gives you a reason to come home. And to go back to work.  And still be able to enjoy life.:)I'm going to try to be more conscious of my own thoughts and more aware of those around me.  I invite you to do the same.

52 New Things: Had Funnel Cake (19 to go)

Funnel cake is a big deal.  I get this.  I had just never had it before.  Until now!  And all I have to say is...it was delicious. We went to an outdoor concert in Park City and I got to try my first funnel cake!

52 New Things: Quoted in the Daily Herald & Meridian Magazine(20 to go)

I sent out a press release to a bunch of local news outlets about our new free custom pediatric orthotics program that we're starting at my work.  Someone came to do a story and take some photographs, and I totally got quoted!:)

An orthotic is a "device you wear in your shoe that corrects gait or structural abnormalities that can be painful and lead to injury if not corrected," said Michelle Allen, who works in Dr. Gibson's office. "It is just painful for kids if they have an abnormality. We don't want them to have to wait until they are an adult to get an orthotic. If they do sports or dance or they are running around all day, it could lead to problems later in life."

The story was originally by the Daily Herald and also picked up by Meridian Magazine. Yeah, now I'm cool.:)

Dr. Gibson casting for orthotics at Mountain West Foot & Ankle Institute

My boss, being a boss at casting for orthotics:)

Sweet Roommate

Oooookay.  My new roommate is too sweet for her own good.  She left two cough drops on my pillow when I was hacking up a lung in the shower the other night, and this morning I woke up to this on my front door.

Can you say cutest note ever???  I am so blessed:)  How could I not have a wonderful day after that?
